Gun Violence cost AZ 1.9 Billion per year. What will you do to address this?

We need to address this issue as such, a public health crisis. We need to identify those individuals who have mental health issues and provide them with the proper treatment to cope with their issues. Most importantly, keeping access to guns away from them.

What have you done to prevent Gun Violence?

I have supported my colleagues who have been trying to introduce legislation to address the issue of gun violence.

Gun Violence cost AZ 1.9 Billion per year. What will you do to address this?

Each of the policies described above are excellent starting points to address the symptoms of gun violence. But I would also want to work on the prevention of gun violence. That requires investment in public education, investment in mental health and even issues like substance abuse. We should be treating those conditions rather than criminalizing them.

What have you done to prevent Gun Violence?

I have been a vocal advocate against the influence of the gun lobby in the legislature and for the common sense reform of our gun laws to improve public safety. I can be counted on to always be an aggressive and vocal force on this issue regardless of the political ramifications. I will continue to do so into the future.
