Gun Violence cost AZ 1.9 Billion per year. What will you do to address this?

Yes, I support stricter gun laws. In addition to raising minimum age requirements, I support gun reform with thorough background checks and purchase waiting periods, and a ban on assault weapons. Our citizen's safety is a priority, especially for our children who have become victims on school campuses and women who have become vulnerable to violence in our homes. Too often guns end up in the wrong hands and on school campuses. Whether it’s gun violence, unlicensed sales or purchases at gun shows, we must take decisive action to protect the public and our children.

What have you done to prevent Gun Violence?

As a social worker I have provided education and prevention information to family, community and schools since 2005 regarding various forms of violence that impact children, women and vulnerable populations. Understanding the history of violence, mental disposition, and access are all ways to assess risk factors when considering weapons in any form given guns, bats, knives, or heavy objects are all potential lethal objects. I will continue to address safety for all ages no matter the socioeconomic background.

Gun Violence cost AZ 1.9 Billion per year. What will you do to address this?

I propose measures to make it more difficult to get guns in the hands of those who would wish to do harm, specifically through stringent background checks, required gun safety and education courses, and hands-on gun training and certification for anyone who wishes to own a firearm.

Gun Violence cost AZ 1.9 Billion per year. What will you do to address this?

Work on thoughtful gun safety legislation to protect Arizonans from gun violence by addressing loopholes giving access to guns to those who probably should not have a firearm.

We must also work to provide people access to the mental health experts and supports throughout our communities and, especially, in our schools.

What have you done to prevent Gun Violence?

Have been a co-sponsor of legislation addressing gun safety in Arizona.
